About TÜBİSAD
Founded in 1979, TÜBİSAD (Informatics Industry Association) represents 90% of the 1.2 trillion TL Turkish Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) market, with member companies operating across all areas of the information and communications sector, including services, software, hardware, cloud, and digital infrastructure providers.
Mission and Activities
TÜBİSAD conducts activities in areas such as education and employment, the creation of local added value, technological development, the establishment of legal and institutional infrastructure, the growth and strengthening of the sector and the market, the establishment and adoption of standards for the ICT sector, and the integration of the sector and Türkiye with the European Union.
TÜBİSAD works to develop national projects that will enable e-transformation in Türkiye and carries out its activities nationwide by sharing these projects with other non-governmental organizations, public and private sector institutions, and the public to ensure broad support from all stakeholders.
TÜBİSAD fulfills all legal obligations in line with current legislation before the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and other relevant ministries, including operating as an “Authorized Organization” for the collection, transportation, sorting, recovery, recycling, and similar processes of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). TÜBİSAD also cooperates with local authorities and all relevant legal entities to carry out these activities and to document and disseminate related processes.
Governance
TÜBİSAD is governed by its Board of Directors, the Secretariat General, and the Executive Board.
The TÜBİSAD Board of Directors consists of 21 full members and 9 substitute members.
Within the Secretariat General, the Secretary General works together with specialists responsible for project management, membership, and content management.
Additionally, TÜBİSAD has an Audit Board consisting of three full and three substitute members.
Partnerships
As of August 2011, TÜBİSAD has been a founding member of DEİK (Foreign Economic Relations Board).
In 2011, TBV, TBD, TÜBİSAD, TESİD, and ECİD came together to form the Digital Türkiye Platform in order to unite forces and develop solutions for the advancement of information and communication technologies and electronics in Türkiye. TÜBİSAD has been a member of the Digital Türkiye Platform since 2011.
DIGITALEUROPE was founded in 1999 under the name EICTA and rebranded in March 2009 to better represent the digital technology industry. Its slogan is “Building DIGITALEUROPE.” TÜBİSAD has been a member of DIGITALEUROPE since 2007, contributing to the development of the European ICT and consumer electronics sectors and supporting the sector’s contribution to economic growth and social development in the European Union. Since 2016, TÜBİSAD’s membership has continued through the Digital Türkiye Platform.
Since 2003, TÜBİSAD has been a member of WITSA (World Information Technology and Services Alliance), the global voice of the IT industry, representing 90% of the global IT market through 60 member associations worldwide.
